What is the Common CV System
The Common CV System is a web based tool you can access by clicking the Logon button on the left side of this Common CV web site. Logon to the Common CV System and enter your CV data in the online forms. The information is saved in the Common CV database. You can make changes and update the data at any time, maintaining a current record of your CV in a single place. The data can be reused, reducing the time and effort spent preparing your CV for future submissions. Data can be validated to ensure it meets the requirements of a specific agency before printing or submitting a CV electronically to a research organization.

members of the Common CV Network.
The Common CV can produce bilingual CVs. Enter your data in English or French. Some data fields allow you to enter information in both official languages. The data is stored and can be printed in both languages.
The system allows you to generate pdf files to view and print from Adobe Acrobat Reader and save copies of your CV to your hard disk, floppy disk or CD.
The Common CV provides a secure environment to store data, using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and 128 bit encryption that provides similar security levels used by the banking industry. Privacy of information is fully protected. Access to information is restricted unless a researcher explicitly grants access to a member organization to view the researcher's data.
The Common CV stores data in a structured database that will allow member agencies to transfer data electronically and maintain updated records if researchers grant access to their information. This allows researchers to maintain updated CV records in a single repository, reducing the need to update files with multiple agencies.
You can access the system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Regular maintenance and system upgrades are performed daily between
1 am and 6 am EST. Access to the Common CV is not guaranteed during this time. Save your data before the maintenance period begins to ensure you do not lose your data. Advanced notification of any planned outages will be posted on this site.
